CIPM MRA

ISO/IEC 17025 - Self-declaration regarding quality management
The METAS management system has been self-declared to meet the ISO 17025/17034 standards. EURAMET TC-Q reviews compliance with the standards every five years as part of the CIPM MRA “Mutual recognition of national measurement standards and of calibration and measurement certificates issued by national metrology institutes”, which facilitates the mutual recognition of national standards and the issuing of corresponding calibration certificates.

METAS first received the EURAMET TC-Q seal of approval in 2003. In 2023, at the 18th EURAMET TC-Q conference, it was once again confirmed that METAS fulfils and implements the requirements specified under the CIPM MRA. -> QMS OVERVIEW TABLE (EURAMET TC-Q).

International recognition of traceability

The services of METAS, in particular the services with “Calibration and Measurement Capabilities” (CMC – see link below) in the context of the International Committee on Weights and Measures Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA), are internationally recognised as metrologically traceable services, as is clearly expressed in the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Policy ILAC P10:01/2013 (PDF, 330 kB, 10 July 2024).

This Policy is also adopted by most accreditation bodies, for example:

CH         Schweizerische Akkreditierung(SAS)               SAS-Dokument702
FR          Comité français d’accréditation (COFRAC)    GEN REF 10
DE         Deutsche Akkeditierungsstelle (Dakks)           71 SD 0 005
ES          Entitad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC)       NT 74
