The MASTER CHRONOMETER certification is carried out by an independent organization on the watch head. This particularly demanding certification essentially covers the water resistance, chronometric performance, resistance to magnetic fields and power reserve of the watches. A sample of the production is continuously tested by METAS.
It is open to all brands whose ‘Swiss Made’ watches have a movement ‘chronometer’ certified, according to ISO 3159. The process for complete mechanical watches is described in the METAS N001 requirements.
Other certification projects are also carried out by METAS-Cert on request, provided that requirements are defined.
